The Discraft Challenger SS is a stable putter released at the 2017 Ledgestone Open. It's an even more understable version of the original Challenger & Challenger OS. The SS sports a flat-top with a comfortable grip with rounded edges. It's hard to find a SS disc that's flat as most discs become overstable when that occurs. This disc is great for players that have a hard time getting everything out of the original.

It seems like just yesterday Discraft launched this new super straight version of the Challenger. It's flat-top provides the stability you are looking for in a throwing putter. At 2017 Ledgestone Open was the release of the Challenger SS; it was a huge success while Jushua Anthon finished in first, Paul McBeth in second and Paul Ulibarri rounding out the top 3. All 3 winnings totaled $14,500 for the three players with the open brackets having 160 participants.
PLASTICS AVAILABLE FOR THE Discraft Challenger SS
While still relatively new, we may see additional plastic stocks for this disc, however, currently, it's only being stocked in two plastics, both being the lower quality. Not thinking of the disc as a thrower, but more of an inside the green putter is the reason for there stock options. In the future with more players using it as an approach shot, we may see it in Big Z or Elite Z. Here are the current plastic options for the Discraft Challenger SS:
A member of Team Discraft, Wesley Shinevar states he uses it for putting since the release in 2017. The shallow feel along with a flat top provides him with a straight, neutral line for putting flat or on a hyzer. Wes has always enjoyed putting without a bead and the Challenger SS provides him with just that.

Nice driver for less arm speed amateurs like me. I don’t have to throw this hard to get it to fly well so it’s more accurate driver for in the woods due to not having to throw hard and focus more on the line
So far this has been a great disc. Very stable, so much so that I’ve really had to adjust my shot a little for it, but just want I wanted for long forehand drives.
Awesome disc and easy to use site. Definitely recommend.
Good disc just need a strong arm to get some distance out of it
Always fun and excited to see what new disc's I get to try. I'll be back.
Purchased one and is now probably my favorite disc. Small rim makes it easy to throw BH and FH and for a putter it flies with the distance of a mid range. It shipped in great time, arriving earlier than original date given to me. It also came in great condition. Packaged well so it didn’t warp and in a plastic sleeve so the stamp still looks amazing.
Very pleased with my box! Lots of variety and in premium plastic too!
great wall disc
I'm a beginner who is moving into intermediate. Recently shot ten over par on 18 holes.
I added the thrasher esp to my bag a few weeks ago. It feels amazing in my hands, and is my easiest to control distance driver. I use it when I need to keep the flight straight or even slightly turned over to the right (RHBH).
I highly recommend the thrasher as a first distance driver for when you're ready to graduate from fairway drivers. My max drive is just over 350'. The thrasher is one of my farthest flying discs, but the real beauty is the ease of control. I know I will always be able to get a full flex and full flight path out of the thrasher, and it's so consistent.
Everyone from beginners to intermediate players needs one of these in their bag!
I’ve been throwing Discraft for about 3 years now. The mantis is one of my regular go to discs and when they came out with a crystal plastic. I had to try it out, I love it quite a bit
Gave them as gifts to son and son-in-law. They liked alot
I have a few of this. The product is great and it looks amazing!
Great stuff! Arrived earlier than expected and in pristine condition. Will be shopping here again
Just a fantastic disk. The flight pattern is so smooth. For side arm its a beast. A must to have in your bag.
I bought this as a backup, in case I lose my other one. I’m starting over after a 14 year hiatus, and this disc is the most consistent flying disc I own.
