The Discraft Challenger SS is a stable putter released at the 2017 Ledgestone Open.  It's an even more understable version of the original Challenger & Challenger OS.  The SS sports a flat-top with a comfortable grip with rounded edges.  It's hard to find a SS disc that's flat as most discs become overstable when that occurs.   This disc is great for players that have a hard time getting everything out of the original.

It seems like just yesterday Discraft launched this new super straight version of the Challenger.  It's flat-top provides the stability you are looking for in a throwing putter.  At 2017 Ledgestone Open was the release of the Challenger SS; it was a huge success while Jushua Anthon finished in first, Paul McBeth in second and Paul Ulibarri rounding out the top 3.  All 3 winnings totaled $14,500 for the three players with the open brackets having 160 participants.

PLASTICS AVAILABLE FOR THE Discraft Challenger SS

While still relatively new, we may see additional plastic stocks for this disc, however, currently, it's only being stocked in two plastics, both being the lower quality.  Not thinking of the disc as a thrower, but more of an inside the green putter is the reason for there stock options.  In the future with more players using it as an approach shot, we may see it in Big Z or Elite Z.  Here are the current plastic options for the Discraft Challenger SS:

A member of Team Discraft, Wesley Shinevar states he uses it for putting since the release in 2017.  The shallow feel along with a flat top provides him with a straight, neutral line for putting flat or on a hyzer.  Wes has always enjoyed putting without a bead and the Challenger SS provides him with just that.
