The Discraft Meteor is an understable Mid-Range that provides more control and distance to beginner players. Its ability to have controlled turnover throws is perfect for any newcomers trying out new throwing techniques. Due note, lighter weighted discs will turnover easier than the max weights. Even intermediate/experts have holes they truly need to fulfill in there bag and most of the time they lack an understable mid-range. The Meteor is exactly the type of disc that fits this description.
Speed: 4 | Glide: 5 | Turn: -3 | Fade: 1 | PDGA Approved
Disc Golfers always want complete control over there discs at all times and the Meteor provides them with this due to its understable approach shots. Your ability to shape shots and turnover them makes it a unique disc many players enjoy throwing. A Meteor is a flaming ball soaring down from the sky; the Discraft Meteor I wouldn't say quite fits the description as it files more horizontally opposed to vertically!
Not the most popular mold in the Discraft arsenal, but it has been gaining momentum with all skill-levels to provide interesting shots to take they normally were unable to use. For this reason, Discraft has opted currently do not have many plastic choices. If and when the disc becomes more popular is when we will see additional plastic options, but for now, here are the currently available plastics:
Robert Leonard, a part of Team Discraft throws and bags the ESP as he can't find a better Mid-Range on the market. He can throw many shot types and doesn't worry about it randomly hyzering or flipping over. This disk is also his "one disc challenge" pick. Another Team Discraft member, Kenneth Mize throws an ESP as well, but his glows (special edition). In the woods, he breaks it out consistently due to the point and shoot type of disc it is. In Michigan where he resides there are multiple courses that are wooded so it gets a lot of work in.
Here is what Discraft has to say about the disc:
The Meteor™ fits nicely into our midrange lineup next to the Comet™, and delivers steady, controlled turnovers with a lot of glide... even at slower speeds. Or release it at a seven o'clock angle for a nice smooth hyzer.
- Diameter: 21.5 cm
- Height: 2.0 cm
- Rim Depth: 1.3 cm
- Rim Width: 1.3 cm
The full colors are always on point and I purchased all four designs!!!
Very understandable mid. Easy to hyzerflip. Super straight flight with minimal fade if thrown with less power. Gentle, but consistent turn if thrown harder.
Being new to the sport, a friend and myself bought a box to sample different disks and different brands. We were not disappointed as discs (drivers, fairway, mid and putter) from MVP, Axiom and DiscMania were included. Now we have a better idea of what brands we enjoy throwing and the difference in plastics.

Love the Buzzz I received in Titanium plastic. Flies fast and straight and not a mark even though I’ve pinged several trees. Great disc and cool looking to boot!
I use this disc on almost every hole. From 200 in i trust it to stay stable and fade right to the basket, also wonderful forehand disc. Zone and Raptor are must haves.
Great disc! Works well out to 200 ft.
I received at least 5 discs that are staples in my bag. I also received a couple I haven’t found a niche for yet. Then I also received 2 collectible type discs that I will never throw and I don’t really collect so not sure what to do with them…
This Jade is so great. The gold plastic has a great feel, especially in winter, and is a perfect driver for my low arm speed.
Box was very worth it
Everyone talks about the Buzzz being the best Add some straightness to it and you can enjoy tunnel shots with no fear
I bought 2 Surge SS to learn to throw distance drivers. This disc has the perfect flight for Medium speed arms and a great feel in your hand.
hanging on my wall
Nice driver for less arm speed amateurs like me. I don’t have to throw this hard to get it to fly well so it’s more accurate driver for in the woods due to not having to throw hard and focus more on the line
