The Discraft Raptor is an overstable Fairway Driver with a very flat top. This disc is meant for the more advanced/experienced players with stronger arms. Beginners will struggle with the over stability in the Raptor.
Speed: 9 | Glide: 4 | Turn: 0 | Fade: 3 - PDGA Approved
This disc is an extremely new disc for the Discraft family approved by the PDGA in December of 2018. Its launch was hidden because it was launched the same exact time as the SOL and the Kong. I mean how can you compete with Paul’s disc?! The Raptor is an overstable Fairway Driver that can take any force you give it!
This new disc launched and has already been added into the Tour Series and Paul Ulibarri was lucky enough to get this as his disc. It’s just a matter of time that Discraft adds this great understable disc further into its plastic lines of ESP and Titanium or at least a Big Z! Here are the current offerings of the Raptor to date:
Here is what Discraft has to say about the disc:
Confidence is KING. This First Run Raptor driver has been a collaboration between our Team Discraft captain, Paul Ulibarri and our R&D guys. Driving into wind - check. Flex shots, Sidearm - check, check. The Raptor delivers the most confidence you've ever felt in a driver under 300ft. Make room in your bag, this just became a staple.

WHO BAGS THE DISCRAFT Raptor
So obviously Paul Ulibarri has been bagging his signature Tour Series Disc, but is there any other well-known core players that have been testing it out and getting it pushed into the there bag? Absolutely! Andrew Presnell has got the Elite Z plastic Raptor placed in his bag for those fairway drives.
It’s not necessarily the greatest disc for beginners, but intermediate and experts will absolutely love this driver as it’s so overstable. It provides a great straight flight out with minimal turn and not a terrible amount of fade at the end of flight. For beginners, if you are to start bagging this disc, make sure you're throwing it as an anhyzer shot as it will most likely meat hook you fast.
