The Discraft Vulture is a high-speed fairway driver described by Discraft as a seasoned Predator. The main difference is that the Vulture is less overstable and experiences more glide. This disc is considered useful for both new and experienced players. It has a consistent and predictable flight.

This Fairway Driver has very high speed and is an overstable flier.  It's great for beginners due to the consistent flight characteristics that you can count on, but in the same breathe...that's excellent for any kind of player!  Everyone is always comparing it to the predator, but it's also very close to being an Undertaker.  It truly is in-between both of those discs with the Vulture being a little more understable the Undertaker.  Discraft also has this in their flight charts being the case as it is very slightly noticeable while throwing it on the Disc Golf Course.

Somewhat a new disc, it’s high speed hasn’t caught on for most people just yet.  It’s very close flight path friend the Predator just is getting a little more notoriety for some reason.  For this reason, Discraft has been sticking to the premium plastic only for the Vulture. Here are the current offerings of plastic available as of May 2019:

A member of Team Discraft, Austin Turner throws the ESP and loves how the disk can do anything he can imagine up.  It's a fast fairway driver that feels comfortable on the rim and provides great glide.  A consistent disc that's great for flat shots to slightly flip and get a turn.  Austin also loves it for the predictable hyzer finish at the end of the flight while he tosses it approximately 280-430 depending on the throw.  Another member of Team Discraft, Terry Rothlisberger throws the ESP as well. The ability to throw a stable disc without it flipping on him makes it an easy fit for his bag.

Here is what Discraft has to say about the disc:

When the Predator finishes with its prey, the Vulture comes in to play. The Vulture is described as a well seasoned Predator, with less overstability and more glide. The Vulture is predictable in wind and a great long range placement driver. Pros will appreciate the shot shaping ability of this driver while less experienced players will find a consistent, predictable flight. Here's what the disc can do: Expect extra glide whether you're throwing backhand or sidearm, and a consistent fade into your target. A medium rim gives you more control and excellent hand-feel. Rip it with brute force to easily manage upwind shots. Plus it holds an almost perfect line on big throws.

WHO BAGS THE Discraft Vulture

With all these crazy releases from Discraft and the addition of Paul McBeth, they have been advertising galore and it has given some classic great discs a backseat where they shouldn't belong.  The Discraft Vulture 100% should be in any intermediate/semi beginner’s bags. It’s a great stepping stone for someone who just doesn’t have the massive arm, but is very close.

So, what was the question, oh yes!  Who bags the Discraft Vulture? Austin Turner.  With his liking of the disc, he was fortunate enough to have the 2019 ESP Tour Series Swirly Discraft Vulture be his signature disc!  He is currently not a big name like Paul, but is on the Elite Team and been crunching through competition with the help of this disc. Be sure to check out the absolutely stunning artwork on the new Big Z plastic Discraft is providing.
