The Discraft Archer is an understable Fairway Driver released in 2016 known to be great for beginners. It's a very straight flying disc with some great hyzer flip ability as it's an all-purpose disc perfect for any starting out disc golf player. Many believe the Archer is one of the most underrated Discraft discs they offer.
Speed: 6 | Glide: 5 | Turn: -3 | Fade: 1 | PDGA Approved
Some consider this disc as a Mid-Range, but in reality, Discraft placed it as a Fairway Driver. As an archer, you will shoot straight like an arrow; this is the case for a beginner, but not an expert. The -3 turn will make a slow arm thrower have the disk fly straight, but when thrown with some power it will turn right.
Having the ability to choose from different plastics will slightly change the way the disc will fly. Discraft formed the Archer for beginners, but intermediate and experts have started to want the disc as well. This being said, they have started producing it in multiple plastic options. Here are the current offerings:
A very popular Team Discraft member, Valarie Jenkins loves throwing this disc. She adores the ability to turnover with a mid-range feel to it. When thrown flat Valarie can be confident it will hold the slow turnover flight pattern. She is always surprised at the distance it provides every time she pulls it out for being a Fairway Driver.
Here is what Discraft has to say about the disc:
The popular Discraft Stratus has long been considered a "magic" disc for its incredible versatility. The problem is that Stratus can't be produced in durable, premium plastics. So we set out to make a disc that will, and Archer is it! Anhyzers, hyzer flips, rollers... Archer is a slow disc that performs best at slow arm speeds. Get out of trouble and back on target with Archer.
