Well, you want to throw an overstable Distance Driver you said, well try the Discraft Machete!  This is probably going to be the most overstable disc you have ever thrown.  Luckily it’s only a speed of 11 so it has the ability for many to get some great flights out.  The Machete is the 100% go-to disc when there is wind and many consider this disc only flyable when there is a headwind.  It’s a special disc many experts will admire and be in their bag for sure.

Speed: 11 | Glide: 4 | Turn: 0 | Fade: 4 | PDGA Approved

This is a 2.2 stability by Discraft and it’s very overstable!  The disc is considered a Distance Driver, but many think of it as a utility disc.  You pull it out of your bag when you need to get out of trouble since you know exactly what it’s going to do.  The ability to control a distance driver to the basket is far and few in-between on the market. Many Disc Golfers use the Machete for a tomahawk throws.

PLASTICS AVAILABLE

We said tomahawk throws are very common for this disc and anyone that’s thrown with this style knows the discs take a beating!  This might be why Discraft has opted to only mold the Machete in premium plastics so they hold-up for those intense throws. Here are the current offerings for the disc:

A member of Team Discraft, Ryan Kenney throws the disk in Elite Z plastic adoring the overstability utility it brings.  Throwing 99% of the time sidearm, he can have full support the disc will handle the torque he provides with a reliable fade at the end of the flight.  Any windy day, it immediately comes out of his bag to play.  Andrew Kaluk, another Team Discraft member throws the Elite Z as well as forehand and backhand.  The reliable, very stable disc is perfect for short spike hyzers.

Here is what Discraft has to say about the disc:

The low profile of Discraft Machete is built to slice through headwinds with unparalleled predictability. Use it with brute force to easily manage upwind shots, or more like a scalpel for on-demand placement precision on a hyzer or flex shot. A medium rim gives you more control and excellent hand-feel.

WHO BAGS THE Discraft Machete

Currently, we don’t see any professionals placing this disc in their bag, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t.  Many professionals are working on one disc over and over and over again so they have complete control over the disc.  Also, it’s not said, but one can assume the sponsored players are almost pigeon-holed into throwing specific discs. This just makes sense if you're paying a player to be on your team, they want them to be throwing your discs you are marketing.

The disk has sold well in the public pro

bably for the amazing name and the artwork on all 6 of the current discs is stunning.  There is just something that makes the disc name fit well in players eyes. Swords in general, if you consider a Machete a sword just works great for this overstable monster.
