The Discraft Stratus is a beginner-friendly understable mid-range perfect for disc golfers learning new throwing techniques. It's a very forgiving disc that will fly straight and far along with being an excellent turnover disc for players looking for a curved anhyzer line that has the power. Discraft is sporting the Stratus currently in two plastics and we don' foresee them adding it to any premium plastics. It's being made with Pro D and Elite X plastics.
Speed: 5 | Glide: 5 | Turn: -3 | Fade: 1 | PDGA Approved
As previously noted, it's a beginner disc for sure or one for a child with little arm strength. That being said, Discraft normally doesn't craft these type of discs into premium plastics. We don't see them changing this either in the near future. here are the current offerings for the Discraft Stratus:
A member of Team Discraft, Scott Papa finds this disk critical for the success of his game. He recommends it for anyone who struggles to throw a disc straight, specifically for beginners. It feels almost as if it auto corrects within the flight. Another Team member, Kim Scott-Wood also strongly encourages beginners to pick-up this disc. It's her current go-to disc when finding herself in trouble on the course. Turning right at mid/high speeds provides an easy throwing capability.
Here is what Discraft has to say about the disc:
The Stratus is great for beginners as well as pros. Easy to throw, it will fly straight at low to mid speeds, or fade to an anhyzer at higher speeds. A well-worn Stratus will flip flat when thrown on a hard hyzer. Try it for roller shots too!
