When is the Release of the Discraft Anax? July 12th, 2019.
The Discraft Anax is the third disc in Paul McBeth's line-up, a Fairway Driver. All we need now is a Mid-Range to finish his collection! This is a 10 speed, high glide with no turn and a reliable fade at the end of the flight. Paul McBeth would not put his name on a disc he didn't trust and rely on. Many people already are butchering the name as it's pronounced Onyx. What does Anax Mean? Anax, the ancient Greek word for "Tribal Chief". Is Discraft trying to say something here? Is Paul McBeth their leader?
Speed: 10 | Glide: 6 | Turn: 0 | Fade: 3 | PDGA APPROVED
The Discraft Anax ProtoType is an understable disc with a glide that seems unrealistic. The Discraft Heat is the only other disc with a glide rating of 6 (and impact, but it's out of production) and everyone knows how well the Heat flies! Another disc that is popular the Force has the same Turn and Fade numbers as the Anax, but 2 additional Speed and 1 less glide. Intermediate players that don't have the arm strength for the Force can use the Anax as there max distance driver and see easier control and great controlled distance.
Paul has been on top of the leaderboards in 2019 with his new Discraft Team. The last 4 current tournaments, Two Days in May, 37th Kansas City Wide Open, DPGA - Discraft Ledgestone & Discraft's CCR Open he came in 1st in all, but one. The 2nd place in CCR Open, what happened!!! Garrett Gurthie was shooting exceptional and inched his way over Paul. The new discs he's been presenting might be the reason he's performing so well. He has had an extreme amount of say in crafting his lineup of discs and helping Discraft mold the best possible disc. Be sure to know, it's not onyx, ajax, or anex, it's the Anax.
This disk is overstable to begin, and then hits flat with no turn, just great glide and steady finish. Slower speeds, it will act like a beefcake. But when hit hard from forehand or backhand, it will ride flat and straight for a good 50% of the flight before fading and still pushing forward. This disc will surely find it's way into many players bags and be there for years to come.
